Laurie Zsedely

Laurie grew up in Rochester, NY where she fell in love with dance. While in college, she continued her dance training by commuting to Buffalo, NY to study jazz, lyrical and tap from various teachers under the direction of David DeMarie, Lenny Castilone and Tom Relabate. She has traveled to NYC to further her education and study under master teachers at the Broadway Dance Center. Laurie strongly believes that one can never stop learning or be inspired by what others have to offer in the art of dance.

She has been teaching and choreographing in Rochester for over 30 years and continues to attend classes to learn the latest styles and techniques in Jazz, Lyrical and Contemporary.

Laurie has been a teacher/choreographer at Performance Plus Dance for over 25 years. She has a true passion for teaching and loves to be in the studio with her students, helping them achieve the most in each and every class. "It's a great honor to have the opportunity to work with young people and share a passion for the art of dance."

Laurie's dances have consistently won high score, technique, choreography and Critic's Choice awards at regional competitions. Her students have won top honors at competition, won scholarships and have gone on to pursue dance careers in college and in the performing arts. However, the ultimate reward has been when students visit after graduating from high school or college and acknowledge how dance has impacted their lives as they become adults.

Laurie has been married for over 20 years to her husband Bob and has two sons. She is thankful for the help and support from her family during weekends and nights when she is teaching at the studio and doing what she loves.
