End of the Year Info!

 

Dear PPD Parents,

 

Our staff hopes that your family is safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. New challenges are surrounding our children in many ways, and having to adapt to virtual classroom learning is one of them. Our PPD teachers have tried very hard to bring some type of normalcy to your children these past few weeks and will continue to do so moving forward. It’s been wonderful to see our dancers together in a virtual zoom world learning together. The positive feedback from parents means the world to our staff, we thank you for your support.

 

We are asking our families to join their classes on the Band App (if you have not done so already). This app is a great way to stay connected, stay informed, ask questions and have access to PPD classes. If you haven’t received an invitation to join the app, send an email to info@performanceplusdance.com

 

All families that pre-paid May tuition, your refunds have been mailed. If you have not received your check, please call us at 392-5355. I am asking families that have not paid costume balances or owe past due tuition through March, to pay in full by May 23. This can be done by calling the studio at 392-5355, our new hours are listed below. Please note, your account must be current to participate in the upcoming session.

 

As we move forward with our dance year, we will continue to be faced with obstacles. I want you to know our staff will follow all CDC recommendations and guidelines. Your child's safety is our main concern. We will be updating information pertaining to the studio as it changes. Also, we will be sending a short survey in the coming weeks asking for feedback and suggestions.

 

Many of our families have reached out to our staff with questions about recital and summer camp. We are pleased to let you know that we have finalized a year-end plan! I hope the following schedule is workable for you and your family. I am sorry for any inconvenience it may cause. 

  • We will continue to offer free dance classes via Zoom through Friday, May 22nd.
     

  • Saturday, May 23rd: Senior Parade (social distancing will be enforced)
    Decorate your cars and make signs! We will meet at the studio parking lot - please do not get out of your cars. We will have a parade route to pass by our seniors houses. Beep and cheer loudly!

    • Company Senior parade begins at 9:30am

    • Recreational Senior parade begins at 11:00am
       

  • May 25th - June 14th:  No Classes. Our staff will be preparing for a new session. Our students will be busy with their academic school classes and obligations.
     

  • Monday, June 15th - Saturday, July 18th:  5-week hybrid PPD dance experience. Tuition will be one month’s normal class tuition plus a small additional fee: ($20 for Competition Students, which includes access to CLI studios. $10 for Rec Students) (Do not add fees for solos, duets or trios) Tuition can be paid by check or credit card (due by June 9th). All students will receive a FREE 2020 Recital t-shirt with the cast list on the back.
     

    • Your schedule will be posted on the Band App by June 5th. This will include ballet, technique, PBT, endurance training, routine review & pop-up classes. (this can be through zoom or in the studio if allowed by CDC) Solos/ Duets/Trios & small groups will be easiest to navigate. Large groups will alternate studio space while others in class are zooming, alternating weekly. 
       

    • We will also have additional private & semi-private lessons available between June 15th and July 18th. Lessons will be first come first serve (these are optional with limited availability). Sign up once or multiple times, your choice! We highly encourage this affordable option! $30.00 for a 30-minute session available for technique or dance review. (These will be zoomed or in-studio if allowed by CDC.)
      *​These times can be shared with up to 3 dancers per 30-minute session. 
      1 dancer=$30.00     2 dancers=15.00 each     3 dancers=$10.00 each 
      Information will be on your Band app.
      Please note- the payment of $30.00 is to be paid by one person only (parents can coordinate). 
       

  • Our end of the year performance will be one of the following:
    (CDC guidelines will control the outcome) All dancers will receive a PPD trophy at the final event! 

    • July 22nd & 23rd Rehearsals, Sunday, July 26th Recitals at Roberts Cultural Life Center (9:30am/2:00pm/6:30pm) with limited audience. We will also stream our recital virtually for extended family members & offer permanent online access to recital videos afterwards.

    • Same Dates at RCLC with No Audience. Recital will be streamed virtually with permanent online access to recital videos afterwards.

    • Same Dates, Outdoor Show. Recital will be streamed virtually with permanent online access to recital videos afterwards.

    • Same Dates, In-Studio Show. Recital will be streamed virtually with permanent online access to recital videos afterwards.

    • Professional Video Yearbook. Parents will send in pictures and videos of dancers from this dance year and Dance Bug will create a video yearbook. All PPD families will have online access. 
       

  • July 28- August 9: 2-week Summer Dance Camp. It will be offered at last year's pricing, minus 50%.
     

  • August 10th - September 10th: Summer Vacation
     

  • September 11th: First day of Dance (2020-2021 Solo, duet/trio forms will be available online starting June 1st.)

Our studio is working on a re-entry plan due to the Coronavirus. There will be many new rules and safety issues implemented. Once approved, the final information will be sent  to our families.
